Introduced in 1924 along with the Victrola 350, the Victrola 370 marked a shift in Victrola appearance. Victor was a conservative company with respect to design, and moved only slowly away from the traditional domed lid look. A buyer in 1924, without looking at the decal inside the lid, would have been hard pressed to identify this machine of Victor origin rather than of some competing brand.

Like its sibling the 350, the 370 sold only in small numbers. An optional electric motor was fitted to around ten percent of VV370 production.
