An exceptionally nice, all original, untouched Victor IV with ribbed wooden horn. This is the way you love to find these machines, but almost never do anymore, clean, original, something nobody has mucked around with.
Great clean original finish, can be cleaned and polished a bit if that's your choice, or just left alone and original as would be my preference. Very nice original nickel plating on arm and hardware, not replated or corroded.
Horn is the large ribbed mahogany horn, appropriate to this machine, again untouched. The lamination on this horn is nice and tight, and this horn is as nice as you will ever find an original horn. Original horn finish matches the machine. There is a small maybe 1 inch scratch cutting a little into the veneer toward the interior of the horn. This will polish or stain out and will never affect the integrity of the horn.
The Victor IV was only one of two Victor Roman numeral series machines in mahogany, and is relatively scarce. Mahogany machines in this era appealed only to upper class homes.
The reproducer on this machine has been rebuilt and a new flange installed for air tightness and the machine sounds absolutely great as you can hear on the mp3. The Victor IV had a double spring motor for extended playing time. This motor has not been rebuilt but is running just as smooth and beautiful as can be, as you can again hear on the mp3.
