Complete, all-original working Cameraphone with the unusual tortoise shell colored horn.
These cute little machines store all the parts inside, and fold up like a camera.
I've always found these machines difficult to adjust but fascinating. I've removed and oiled the motor, and adjusted the governor for speed. The two control screws in the front can be a bit confusing; for your information, the one on the upper left rotates to operate the brake, and the one under the crank has a sort of minimal adjustment for the speed. The speed on these almost has to be pre-set -- if you want to know why send me an email and I will try to provide the gory technical details.
You can hear this Cameraphone playing part of a ten inch record on the mp3; as usual, there's a bit of flutter evident, and obviously it was impossible to fit a large, powerful mainspring into a tiny case.
These novelties aren't the optimal device for playing 78rpm records, they're better suited to sit on a shelf for display, ogling and occasional demonstration. But then you weren't going to play your valuable 78rpm records on this anyhow, were you???
