Merry Widow manivelle for sale

This item has been sold. Please contact us - we may be able to find you another.

This manivelle in a decorated pine case plays two selections from Franz Lehar's operetta The Merry Widow, which would date it to 1905. (Manivelle comes from the French word "main," meaning hand, because the music box is rotated by hand rather than from a mainspring.)

Dimensions are approximately 11" long, by 6" deep and 6" tall. There are some age related nicks on the corners and feet.

I can't show you the movement, because the case is sealed; however, it plays nicely and sounds much larger than it is.
