Victor II, humpback
$1500

It's been quite a while since we've been able to offer outside horn Victors, they're just too hard to find and sell too quickly, but I just put a couple together and am pleased to offer this Victor II (Victor Two). This is the earlier, more desirable version of the Victor II, the so-called humpback Two, with fancy pillars and the extra wood jutting out of the back of the machine. If you insist on a date it was probably manufactured before early 1909. The cabinet has been beautifully and professionally refinished and has a nice golden amber brown color, the bracket and nickel plated arm are very decent. The motor is working properly and the Exhibition reproducer sounds good. The repainted original Victor brass bell horn is approximately 19 inch long with an 11 inch bell; it's had some small dings taken out of it and looks very, very respectable, and is absolutely the proper horn for a Victor II. I put a quality reproduction elbow on the horn, nickel over brass like the original, and the machine has a new crank. I think you'll like the appearance of this machine, and the way it plays. If you've been looking for an outside horn Victor machine here it is -- if you want an outside horn Victor to play 78rpm records this would be a good choice, enough power in the spring yet relatively inexpensive compared to other Victor models. $1500
