The motor and reproducer are working properly, and the machine plays as well as it did when it left the factory. It's quite unusual to find one of these piano phonographs with the original motor -- usually the motor and motorboard have been replaced with some other model, and sometimes the cabinet has been re-drilled. Not so with this example. The outside finish is typically weathered, but could be refinished to a glossy piano finish if you like. There was possibly a small set of fake petals that attached to the underside that are not present. I haven't seen them on all piano shaped phonographs.
These piano shaped phonographs are very popular because of their unusual eye appeal. A great decorator item, and a phonograph at the same time! $1500
