Victor Monarch Special, Mahogany This incredible machine bears serial number 200. It is an American Monarch Special with original mahogany finish, so unbelievably rare that we had never before seen one, and which we now believe to be THE ONLY KNOWN EXAMPLE. We didn't receive any provenance with the machine, so we don't know if it was a special order, and if so for whom. The finish is very decent. Some of the nicked parts such as the support arm are corroded, the speed control escutheon was pulled, the reproducer is absent, and the horn has some rust. The easiest thing to do would be to replace these weathered parts from another machine, and you will wind up with something truly elegant. The tone arm appears to be a mahoganized oak. $15,000
