Madame Hendren Phonograph Doll - Working

A working Madame Hendren Dolly Rekord phonograph doll. These were the most popular of the phonograph dolls, with a mechanism made by the Averill Manufacturing Company. The doll most likely dates to the 1920s. There is some typical tearing of the cloth body, and some typical cracking and crazing of the composition, but less so than in most examples I have seen (see photographs).
