Early Austrian musical clock I'm not a clock person, but I believe this beautiful musical clock with mother of pearl was made in Austria in the 1840s.The musical cylinder is about 3 and a half inches long and though not sectional has a fine cut comb. The music is playing fine; I've not tried to get the clock going, though I will upon request. The components that make up the case such as the fancy pillars and clock housing were loose when we received the clock -- I have tried to secure them a little bit such as by placing a non-visible screw in the interior of the clock housing. There was a split in the gilded housing support which I reglued and daubed a little paint over, one tiny curlicue is missing; there's also a small crack in the glass which is visible in the photos. It's almost impossible anymore to find a music box collectible of this quality, or of this early vintage. $3000
